Youth Education, Entrepreneurship, and Employability Program (YEEEP)

Youth Education, Entrepreneurship, and Employability Program (YEEEP)

YEEEP prepares young people for the realities of the modern workforce by bridging the gap between education and employment.

The program equips youth with market-relevant skills, digital literacy, entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and pathways to internships, jobs, and income-generating opportunities. It also strengthens school-to-work transitions through partnerships with educational institutions and industry actors. By empowering young people to learn, earn, and innovate, YEEEP contributes to economic resilience and reduces youth unemployment. The YEEEP will ride on the strides made by the Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship Enhancement Program (YEEEP), which, since its launch in June 2023, directly engaged out-of-school youth in Karonmajigi with a strong focus on building digital literacy, soft skills, and entrepreneurial capacity. Starting with a cohort of 15 young people, many of whom had no prior exposure to basic digital tools such as email or online business platforms, the program has recorded significant transformation within just five weeks of blended learning. Participants have progressed from digital exclusion to actively using email, social media, and mobile video editing tools to promote their businesses and engage customers. Stories like Latifah’s reflect this shift, moving from limited awareness to confidently leveraging digital platforms for business growth. Beyond skills acquisition, YEEEP is strengthening confidence, expanding economic opportunities, and nurturing a new generation of digitally. These youths are not only improving their own livelihoods but are also positioned to champion digital literacy within their communities, despite ongoing challenges such as data costs and limited device access.
