About Us

Who We Are
Who We Are

We are the bridge that connects adolescents and youths to opportunities, services, platforms, and policies that enable them to thrive in education, health, livelihood, and leadership.
Established in April 2021, with a focus to address the overlapping barriers to health, education, and economic opportunity that young people face, Gem Hub Initiative supports pregnant adolescents who are vulnerable to life-threatening risks, students who leave school without employable skills, and many youth who remain excluded from meaningful work and decision-making. We equip adolescents and youths, especially the most vulnerable, with the tools, opportunities, and voice needed to lead healthy, productive, and empowered lives.

Our unique approach: The Gem Model.
The Gem Model views every young person as a rare gem; full of inherent value and potential, even when life’s circumstances obscure their brilliance. With the right support, guidance, and opportunities, that potential can be refined into strength, confidence, and leadership.
We therefore use a holistic, youth-centered approach that integrates health, education, economic empowerment, and leadership development.
By prioritizing the most vulnerable adolescents and engaging the families, communities, and systems that shape their lives, we create lasting pathways for young people to survive, thrive, and lead.
Who you serve:
Gem Hub Initiative serves adolescents and young people, especially those in underserved communities, while engaging families, educators, health providers, and leaders who shape their futures. Our work focuses on ensuring that no young person is left behind during the critical years that determine lifelong health, opportunity, and wellbeing.
Our Geographic Scope: (Use Africa and Nigeria Map)
Gem Hub Initiative works across Nigeria with a growing footprint in the Federal Capital Territory, and Rivers State, with advocacy in Lagos and Kano State. By 2030, we aim to expand to at least eight additional states and three African countries, bringing our integrated youth development model to communities where it is needed most.
For us, success is a generation of healthy, educated, skilled, and empowered young people who can transition safely into adulthood, participate meaningfully in society, and drive sustainable development in their communities and countries.
